Overview

Choose this Hampi 4 day tour package if you would rather base yourself in the Hampi ruins in Karnataka for three nights than change hotels. A private car meets you at Hubballi Airport. Sightseeing takes in Virupaksha Temple, Vittala's stone chariot, Lotus Mahal and Anegundi over the Tungabhadra. Good for history and photography fans, best from October to February.

Who it suits

Travellers who want to unpack once and walk the ruins slowly, and who are fine with early starts, boulders and a long drive at each end

Good to know

Hotel base

All three nights are in Hampi, so you unpack once and the sights are a short drive or walk away

Footwear

Wear sturdy closed shoes for rough granite; you will take them off at active temples

Airport

The nearer airport at Toranagallu has limited services, so this tour starts and ends at Hubballi

River crossing

Coracle and ferry crossings of the Tungabhadra are seasonal, so Anegundi can also be reached by road
