Bengaluru airport to the Kabini river lodge
- Your driver collects you at Bengaluru airport
- The road heads south-west to Kabini and takes about 5 hours including breaks
- Check-in is at a lodge close to the Kabini reservoir
- Spend the evening resting, or stroll nearby if the lodge permits
A full day on the river and in the forest
- Morning outing in Nagarahole by jeep or on the river by boat, as booked
- Return to the lodge for a long lunch break
- Second outing in the afternoon, by the other mode
- Watch for elephants at the bank, cormorants and darters, and crocodiles

Last Kabini morning, then Mysore Palace
- If a slot has been booked, take a final outing at Kabini
- Then travel about 80 km to Mysuru, roughly 2 hours
- In the afternoon, tour Mysore Palace, taking in the Durbar Hall and the royal museum
- Browse Devaraja Market, where flowers, spices and sandalwood are sold

Chamundi Hill and the drive to Bengaluru
- Start early at Chamundi Hill, about 13 km out of central Mysuru
- If you climb the staircase, you will pass the granite Nandi
- Then the road to Bengaluru airport, about 184 km, is next
- Leave a generous buffer if your flight is in the afternoon or evening
