Fort Kochi lanes, then the climb to Munnar
- Early walk through the lanes of Fort Kochi, past St Francis Church
- Leave by mid-morning for Munnar, about 130 km inland via Aluva, Kothamangalam and Adimali
- Allow 4 to 5 hours with stops as the road climbs
- Check in and take the cool evening air

Munnar: tea estates, Tata Tea Museum and Top Station
- Morning walk or slow drive along a tea estate road
- Visit the Tata Tea Museum and the story of tea in these hills
- Stop at the Mattupetty reservoir, where boating is on offer
- Continue to the Top Station viewpoint
- Eravikulam National Park can replace a stop when it is open

Munnar to Thekkady and a Kumily spice plantation
- Drive south to Thekkady, about 90 to 100 km and around 3 hours on hill roads
- Reach Kumily, the spice-trading town about 4 km from Thekkady
- Walk through a spice plantation where cardamom, pepper, clove and nutmeg grow
- Evening at leisure near the Periyar Tiger Reserve

Periyar Lake boat ride, then the drive to Alleppey
- Morning boat ride on Periyar Lake, booked through the reserve's online system
- Leave Thekkady for Alleppey, about 138 km and around 4 hours
- Check in by the canals
- If time allows, an evening visit to Alappuzha Beach and its old sea pier

Alleppey backwater cruise and departure
- Morning cruise through the canals and out onto Vembanad Lake (to be confirmed)
- Return to the hotel and check out
- Drive to Cochin International Airport, roughly 70 to 90 km and about 2 hours
- Fly out in the afternoon or later
