This Warangal Medaram tour package is a four-day private trip in Telangana, with two nights in Warangal and one in Medaram. It joins Kakatiya monuments (Warangal Fort, the Thousand Pillar Temple, Ramappa Temple) to the Koya tribal shrine at Medaram. It suits history and culture travellers, and November to February is the best time to go.

Hyderabad airport to Warangal
- Meet your driver at Hyderabad airport
- Drive north-east to Warangal, about 166 km and around 3.5 hours with a break
- Check in and rest after the journey
- Evening at leisure, with a first look at the old Kakatiya city if you have the energy
Thousand Pillar Temple, Bhadrakali and Warangal Fort
- Begin in Hanamkonda, about 7 km north of Warangal, at the Thousand Pillar Temple and its Nandi cut from a single block
- Go on to the hilltop Bhadrakali Temple beside its lake
- After lunch, walk round Warangal Fort, taking in its three rings of wall and the four stone gateways
- Stay on for the evening sound and light show if it is running
Ramappa Temple, then on to Medaram
- Set out early for Ramappa Temple at Palampet, about 66 km from Warangal
- Look closely at the dolerite carvings and the light-brick roof of this UNESCO World Heritage Site
- Walk to Ramappa Lake, about a kilometre away
- Continue into Mulugu district to Medaram in Tadvai mandal, with a drive of about 3 hours in all
- Settle in and see the village and its forest setting before dark
Medaram shrine and the road back to Hyderabad
- A short morning at the Sammakka Saralamma shrine, hearing the Koya story of the two women it honours
- Leave straight after, since the road to Hyderabad is long
- Drive about 260 km to the city, around 5 hours with stops
- Transfer on to Hyderabad airport for an evening flight
