Arrive in Visakhapatnam and climb to Araku Valley

- Drive inland, about 3.5 hours, as the road climbs into the Eastern Ghats
- Check in at your hotel in Araku Valley
- Evening at leisure in the cooler hill air
Araku: Madagada sunrise, coffee and tribal museum
- Early start for the Madagada viewpoint and the mist below it
- Tribal Museum and Coffee Museum, with a stop for local Arabica
- Afternoon at Padmapuram Gardens
- Chaparai waterfall or the Araku Pinery before sunset
Borra Caves and the drive down to Visakhapatnam
- Leave Araku Valley after breakfast
- Walk through the Borra Caves, 88 km from Visakhapatnam
- Continue to the coast, roughly 3.5 hours of driving in all
- Check in and watch the evening lights from Beach Road
Kailasagiri, RK Beach and Rushikonda
- Morning at Kailasagiri, by cable car if you like, with the glass bridge and the statue of Shiva and Parvati
- Afternoon at the INS Kursura submarine museum on RK Beach
- Late-day walk on Rushikonda Beach, about 8 km out
- Dinner of your choice by the sea (optional Simhachalam temple visit, about 16 km away, instead of the beach)
Along the coast to Kakinada and its beach
- Drive south-west along the coast, about 154 km
- Check in at Kakinada and rest after the road
- Sunset at Kakinada Beach, where fishing boats land the catch
- Seafood from the beach stalls, if you wish
Coringa mangroves and departure from Rajahmundry
- If your flight is not early, a short visit to the Coringa mangroves, 8 km from Kakinada
- Or a slow morning at the hotel instead
- Drive about 65 km to Rajahmundry Airport
- Drop-off for your flight
